Having lived in a luxury Octagon house for the past three years, Tim and Charlotte knew exactly what to expect when it came to Octagon – and the services the pioneering housebuilder offered.
Reluctant to leave their Octagon property but motivated to move to a new area, Tim and Charlotte found their dream plot, located on arguably one of the best roads in Buckinghamshire. Tim contacted Octagon to see how the process worked, and Octagon Bespoke was appointed straight away.
The plot housed an old property ripe for development, offering far-reaching views of the local area – which Octagon ensured were maximised in the resulting design.
Tim comments “We loved our current Octagon home and simply wanted a change in location, so we decided to replicate the floorplan and layout of our existing house, albeit with a few minor tweaks.”
The couple moved into rented accommodation as construction works on the 5/6 bedroom home began, led by Octagon’s expert turnkey design and build service, Octagon Bespoke. The next 18 months were spent working collaboratively with the team, on all aspects of the property both internally and externally.
Charlotte comments “In terms of interiors, I knew exactly what I wanted and had a clear brief, so was initially unsure about the need for the Octagon Interiors service, but Martin Brown and the team were invaluable in helping us select and source the very best materials and products, as well as advise on some of the latest interior trends.”
“There were a few essentials on the wish list– such as the black and white check floor tiles for the hallway. The hallway offers almost limitless design freedom because its primary role as a transition space demands a sense of anticipation, but I was set on having the chequered tiles from day one.”
Other non-negotiables to the interiors were the plantation shutters to the front of the house, which really showcase and compliment the elegant exterior, along with creating more storage – in the form of a larder, a dressing room and a workshop for Tim. Outside, Octagon also led on the landscaping designs for which Tim and Charlotte also had a clear brief, for the south-facing garden.
